Lori (Arnold) Nutter played a key role in the success of the Heidelberg women’s soccer team in the mid-1990s. Originally a forward from Westerville, Nutter transitioned to a defender to help the women’s team to success.
She was part of the 1993 team that won both the Ohio Athletic Conference regular season and tournament championships. In 1994, Nutter helped guide the team to a repeat of both titles, and was named to the All-Ohio third team. That same season, she was named the Heidelberg Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Year.
Holding a major role as part of the 1995 squad, Nutter once again led the team to an OAC regular season and tournament championship, which later qualified for the NCAA Regionals. As a junior, Nutter was named to the OAC First Team and the OAC Defensive Player of the Year.
In her final season at the Berg, Nutter led the team right back to the NCAA Regionals. That same year, she was selected to the OAC First Team and as the Heidelberg Women’s Soccer MVP. She was also voted to the Great Lakes All-Region Team and was an NSCAA Third Team All-American.
Nutter graduated from Heidelberg in 1998 with a bachelor of science degree. She, along with the 1995 women’s soccer team, was inducted into the Heidelberg Athletics Hall of Fame in 2004.
She married Wes Nutter in 2000. The couple currently resides in Ashville with their two daughters, Morgan and Reagan. Nutter enjoys running, and ran her first full marathon in 2016.
