One of the most decorated distance runners in Heidelberg history, Dustin Lamvermeyer’s name can be found throughout the record books of the Heidelberg cross country and track & field teams.

After qualifying for the 1996 NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships as an individual, Lamvermeyer returned in 1997 -- this time accompanied by the entire team.  While Heidelberg took 15th as a squad, Lamvermeyer ran a 25:49 to finish 19th. With that, he became the first All-American in program history. Their 15th-place finish is still the best in school history.

Lamvermeyer and the Student Princes, under the direction of Larry Brown, returned to the national stage in 1998, where they finished 19th.

In total, Lamvermeyer was a three-time All-Ohio Athletic Conference performer in cross country.

Running both indoor and outdoor track, Lamvermeyer’s success continued.  In 1996, he was an All-OAC performer in the indoor 5K and the outdoor 10K.  As a junior in 1997, he repeated his All-OAC effort in the indoor 5K and added more hardware with an all-conference performance in the outdoor 5K.  At the OAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships in 1998, Lamvermeyer won the 10K. He competed at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships three times.

His success in competition was intermingled with success in the classroom.  Lamvermeyer twice earned United States Track Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic Awards.

To date, he still holds two school records: 5,000M in indoor track and 10,000M in outdoor.  His best 8K mark remains the third best on cross country’s all-time list.

Today, Lamvermeyer resides in the Tampa/St. Petersburg, Florida area with his wife Amy, and their children, Derek and Rose.  He has spent his career in the banking and financial services industries. Currently, he is an internal auditor for a large financial services firm.  Following a break from consistent training, Lamvermeyer has returned to the sport. He has rededicated himself to running and is involved with coaching youth track & field.
