Born in Columbiana, Ohio, and a graduate of Columbiana High School in 1952, Bruce Miller earned four letters in football and three in basketball before graduating from Heidelberg College in 1956.

Highlighting his football career from 1952 through 1955 was selection to the first team All-Ohio Athletic Conference as a tackle and first team All-Ohio Small College.

He was also selected as a Little All-American in 1954 and 1955 Little All-American Dream Team.

Heidelberg College compiled a 33-3-1 record during his playing days which included outright and tied championships in the Ohio Athletic Conference.

A member of the Excelsior Men's Society, the Varsity "H" Association and Spanish Club, Miller played basketball for Heidelberg from the 1952-1953 season through the 1954-1955 campaign.

In high school and junior high school in Columbiana, he earned four letters on the junior high level in football where he began playing when he was in fifth grade because of his good size.

He received four letters in football and four in basketball in high school, and was elected captain of the football and basketball teams his senior year.

Miller also earned the rank of Eagle Scout with the Silver Palm and attended the Boy Scout World Jamboree in Bad Ischl, Austria in 1951 representing Ohio, West Virginia, and Kentucky.

Employed by Case Corp. (formerly International) the past 37 years, Miller is currently the certified business manager and is responsible for sales and marketing covering the state of Indiana.

He has also served as the basketball coach in the YMCA Boys League for boys in the third through sixth grades with the Greenville, Ohio YMCA.

Miller credited head coach Paul Hoernemann as the person who inspired him during his lifetime.
