TIFFIN -- The Heidelberg University women's tennis team rebounded in conference play this afternoon defeating Muskingum University in a close battle by a final score of 5-4.
With the win, The Berg stands at 3-6 overall and earned their first conference win of the season to go to 1-4 in the OAC.
Esmerelda Salazar, Emmy Flottman-Mullen and Jillian Goulet each won their singles and doubles matches to help out the Berg's efforts.
Salazar and Flottman-Mullen teamed up at first doubles to defeat Sarah Stockdale and Sara Welsh 8-1. Goulet paired with Meridith Lucius to win second doubles 8-0.
In singles, Salazar cruised through first singles 6-0, 6-0. Goulet faced a tough first set, winning 6-4, before smoothly taking set two 6-1. Flottman-Mullen battled at fourth singles 6-2, 6-4 for the final team point of the day for Heidelberg.
The Student Princes will return to the court on Saturday as they travel to Mount Union for a 1 p.m. first serve.
