Box Score ANGOLA, Indiana -- The Heidelberg University men's lacrosse team dropped its fourth straight game, falling to Trine University, 15-2. Heidelberg slipped to 2-6 on the season while Trine improved to 4-2.
Heidelberg was down 2-0 before Matt Wernerspach cut the Thunder lead in half with his 14th goal of the season.
Trine scored the next five goals of the half, taking a 7-1 lead at the break.
In the second half, the Thunder scored the first eight before Wernerspach notched his second of the game with just under a minute to play.
Defensively, Chris Storrs had four ground balls and two caused turnovers for the Student Princes. Ryan Sinnema had three ground balls and three caused turnovers.
Goalie Tyler Hammack had 10 saves in the loss.
Wernerspach tallied six shots and Nick Selfridge added five.
The Student Princes return home to face Muskingum University (3-4, 0-1 OAC) on Saturday. The first faceoff with the Muskies is slated for 4 p.m.
