TIFFIN -- The Heidelberg University Men's Lacrosse team fell on Senior Day, losing to Muskingum University by a score of 15-5. The game was played at Tiffin University's Paradiso Athletic Complex because of lingering flood damage to the turf at Hoernemann Stadium.
Prior to the game, Heidelberg honored four seniors --
Jayden Slaughter,
Jonathan Marty,
Rayce Septer and
Wilson Runnette.
Down 1-0, HU's
Colin Parker scored an unassisted goal with 11:56 left in the first. The Muskies responded with two goals before Septer netted one off a feed from Parker.
Muskingum (6-7, 3-2 OAC) led 5-2 after one and scored the opening goal of the second quarter. Parker's second of the game came next -- an unassisted goal at 12:15. Muskingum took control of the contest by scoring the next five goals.
Kaivin Jones took a great pass from
Malachai Davis in a man-up opportunity midway through the third and scored.
Dante Coffman scored HU's final goal of the game late in the fourth, trickling a shot through the goalkeeper.
In his final game in Tiffin, Runnette made 25 saves.
