Box Score BEXLEY, Ohio -- The Heidelberg University Women's Soccer team took a loss to Capital Wednesday evening, 8-1. The Student Princes had the early momentum, but were unable to sustain it for the full 90 minutes.

In the ninth minute, Harper Danze won a 50-50 ball near midfield and played the ball to speedy Brianna Braatz. The junior cut left toward the middle before whistling a shot past the Capital goalkeeper.

The 1-0 lead held up for nearly 15 minutes, including a successful coach's challenge by Heidelberg, until the Comets equalized in the 23rd minute. The hosts would add two more before half.

The Comets piled on in the second half, including a three-goal burst in the final 15 minutes.

Maddi Springer made nine saves in the loss.

The Student Princes return home for their first OAC contest in Hoernemann Stadium on Saturday. Heidelberg hosts Muskingum in the second half of a soccer doubleheader -- with match time slated for 4 p.m.
