WEST LAFAYETTE, Ohio -- Playing their third competitive round in as many days, the Heidelberg University Women's Golf team had a strong showing at the OAC Spring Preview at River Greens Golf Course on Monday. Leading the Student Princes to a second-place finish,
Brooke Barnes took medalist honors, firing a +8 80, winning by one stroke.
Barnes had a pair of birdies on the day and lowered her season average to 84.4
Lydia Dietz placed third overall, carding a +10 82.
Danielle Powell was 13th with an 87 and
Anzaya Estep rounded out the scoring with a 93.
Elizabeth Jackson shot a 95 and
Lexie Honigford brought in a 110.
With eight of the nine OAC teams participating, Mount Union won with a 338. The Berg was four strokes back.
The Preview was the team's final tune-up before the OAC Championships take place April 24-27.

KOKOMO, Indiana -- The Heidelberg University Women's Golf team traveled to Wildcat Creek Golf Course in Kokomo, Ind., to play in the two-day IUK Spring Shootout. The Student Princes placed fifth out of nine teams, shooting 343-341--684.
Lydia Dietz placed eighth overall, carding an 80-84--164. She racked up four birdies on the weekend, including three on the front nine in the opening round.
Brooke Barnes rebounded after a tough opening round to rocket up to 18th on the leaderboard. Shooting a 93-80--173, she improved by 13 strokes on day two.
Elizabeth Jackson tied her collegiate best in the opening round, carding an 86-89--175. She was 21st overall.
Danielle Powell was one stroke back, bringing in twin 88s and finishing at 176.
Anzaya Estep was one of The Berg's four scorers in round one and went 89-106--195 for the weekend.
Paige Kearns (101-109--210) and
Lexie Honigford (116-109--225) competed as individuals.
The team competes at the OAC Spring Preview on Monday.
