WEST LAFAYETTE, Ohio --While the worldwide golf community is focusing on Augusta National, the Heidelberg University Men's Golf turned in a record-setting performance at the OAC Spring Preview at River Greens Golf Club. Shattering their old record by four strokes, The Berg brought in a 292, good for third in the 11-team field.
The Student Princes were led by a pair of even-par 72s from
Cameron Spraggins and Jimmy Johnston. The scores, good for fourth overall, were career bests for both.
Logan Niese and
Josh Ferdon rounded out the scoring for HU with +2 74s.
Emerson Grassbaugh had an 80.
The previous record of 296 was set a season ago.
Finishing with a 310, the B team was led by a pair of 75s from
Nate Kelly and
Cael Dowdell.
Max Schneckenburger carded a 79 while
Colin Jennings had an 81.
Matthew Kittle was the fifth with an 88.
