Box Score TIFFIN – After securing their spot in the OAC Tournament earlier this week, the Heidelberg Women's Soccer team faced Otterbein in their final regular-season match to determine tournament seeding. The game ended in a scoreless draw, setting up a rematch with Otterbein in the tournament's first round.
Otterbein started on the offensive, testing standout Heidelberg goalkeeper Brigid Enright, who made twelve saves, tying her season and career high. Enright's performance earned her ninth shutout of the season, placing her fourth in Heidelberg history for single-season shutouts and fifth for career shutouts with 12.
Heidelberg created several scoring chances, with Syd Hewer leading the team with three shots. Mallory Zavatchen, Olivia Wallace, and Alayna Hahn each added a shot, but none found the back of the net. Otterbein outshot Heidelberg 20-6 on the day.
Based on OAC tiebreaker scenarios, Otterbein secured the No. 4 seed and Heidelberg the No. 5 seed despite their identical league records. The Cardinals host the rematch on Tuesday, with the winner advancing to face either No. 1 seed Ohio Northern or No. 2 seed John Carroll in the second round.
