WESTERVILLE, Ohio -- The Heidelberg University track & field teams competed at the All-Ohio Championships on the campus of Otterbein University on Saturday. The program saw
Dan Stoll win two All-Ohio Championships, six others earn All-Ohio distinction and three school records fall in what turned out to be a very nice showing for the Student Princes.
The Student Princes will return to the track next weekend at the Steemer Showcase, hosted by Wittenberg University. The meet will serve as the final tune up for the indoor OAC Championships that will take place on February 28th and 29th.
Here are the top performances from the All-Ohio Championships for The Berg:
All-Ohio Finishes (Top-3):
Men's 400m Dash:
Dan Stoll did what
Dan Stoll does, winning the All-Ohio crown in the 400m dash with a time of 49.49 seconds. Stoll edged out James Roth at the line by 0.06 seconds. His time also breaks his own school record of 49.61 seconds by 0.12 seconds. A year ago, Stoll took third in this event at the All-Ohio meet. Without TFRRS updates on February 15th, Stoll's time of 49.49 moves him up from 17th to a tie with ninth in DIII this season.
Men's 200m Dash:
Dan Stoll did what
Dan Stoll does -- again. This time, Stoll won the 200m Dash in a new school record time of 22.10 seconds, once again eclipsing his own mark of 22.22 seconds set earlier this season. Stoll edged ONU's Nate Dean by 0.17 seconds, claiming his second All-Ohio title of the day. Without TFRRS updates on February 15th, Stoll's time of 22.10 seconds would seed him as the fastest DIII 200m dash in the country this indoor season, moving him up from seventh on the list.
Women's 4x200m Relay: The grouping of
Arinn Hayes,
Ariana Coleman,
Allison Schwarzbek and
Kelsey Grove finished second in a time of 1:45.47. Their time was just 0.41 seconds off of first place Otterbein, and broke a 12-year-old school record as the time eclipsed the 1:45.55 time that was run in 2008 by Angela Zellner, Colleen Nitchman, Catie Evers, and Judy Bataille.
Men's One Mile:
David Drushal took third overall, claiming All-Ohio honors with a time of 4:21.86.

Isabel Chasney reached the podium as she placed third in the 3,000m with a time of 10:36.61. Chasney was just six seconds off of winner Alyssa Laughner.
