Dan Stoll to compete at NCAA Championship meet

In a season like no other, Heidelberg University senior Dan Stoll has earned a place among the elite athletes of NCAA Division III track and field. The native of Huron has qualified for the outdoor national track and field championships in the 400 meter dash for the second time in his career as a Student Prince, and will be competing in Greensboro N.C. over the weekend.

Stoll ran his season-best time of 48.07 in the Ohio Athletic Conference championships in Hoernemann Stadium earlier this month. He enters the event as the 10th seed, based on qualifying times.

Prelims for the 400 will take place on Friday at approximately 3:15 p.m., with the finals scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Stoll earned All-American honors in the Indoor 200 and 400 meter dash events last year after the championship meet was canceled due to COVID-19. He previously qualified for the outdoor championships in 2017 as part of the 4x400 meter relay team. The squad of Stoll, Jerrod Lyon, Devaun Churchya and Kenny Beucler finished in 14th place in the championship meet.

Stoll has the opportunity to become the fourth three-time All-American for the Student Princes. He is the third national qualifier in program history in the men's 400 meter dash, following Bill Cooper (1996) and Greg Tyson Jr. (2006).
