WLAX: Student Princes upended by Mount Union

ALLIANCE, Ohio -- The Heidelberg University women's lacrosse team faced another in-conference juggernaut away to the University of Mount Union on Saturday afternoon. The conference leaders stormed past the Student Princes by a final score of 21-3.

With the loss, Heidelberg now stands at 7-7 overall and 1-4 in the OAC. Mount Union is 12-1 overall, and 6-0 in the conference.

The Berg scored the first goal of the game after Dana Dudley controlled the opening draw. Jenna Carman picked up her 29th assist of the season and fed the ball to Anna Winnicki who netted the goal.

Mount then scored the next seven goals before Jen Kovarik netted a goal for the second straight game. Dudley picked up the assist on the goal.

Again the Purple Raiders stormed on a run, this time netting 14 straight. Dudley then capped the game with a goal in the final minute of play.

The conference's leading scorer, Danielle Rohrman poured in five goals and three assists to lead Mount.

Mandi Phillips started in the cage and stopped six shots.

Heidelberg will host Baldwin Wallace on Friday, April 19 for a 2 p.m. first draw.
