MARIETTA -- The Heidelberg University women's lacrosse team dropped the penultimate game of the 2022 season by a final of 17-4 at Marietta College on Saturday.
Sydney Shaffer put Heidelberg on the board first with a goal at 12:13 of the first quarter.
Marietta scored the next four goals before
Kelly Spence scored, taking a feed from Shaffer and putting it in the net.
The Pioneers led 5-2 after one and 11-2 at halftime.
Spence scored her second of the game in the third quarter, this time assisted by
Brianna Lloyd.
Gianna Ricci closed the scoring with a fourth-quarter goal.
In addition to her two goals, Spence caused three turnovers and scooped up four ground balls.
Ella Lane made 19 saves in goal.
Heidelberg will wrap up the campaign on Wednesday night at Capital University. Game time in Bexley is slated for 7 p.m.
