WLAX: Berg stumbles against BW

Box Score

TIFFIN -- On a bitterly cold evening at Hoernemann Stadium, the Heidelberg University women's lacrosse team fell to the Baldwin Wallace University Yellow Jackets, 12-3. The Student Princes fall to 5-5 on the season, 1-2 in the Ohio Athletic Conference.

Down 3-0, Abby Rose put Heidelberg on the board with a goal with 7:39 left in the first half. Rose scored off a nifty feed from Dana Dudley for her ninth goal of the year. Heidelberg trailed 5-1 at halftime.

The Yellow Jackets maintained control in the second half, scoring the first three goals of the period. With just over 21 minutes to play, Amanda Sugrue was awarded a free position attempt. Rather than shooting, she fed Angela Lulejian who quickly scored her 24th goal of the year.

With her team trailing 12-2, Lulejian tallied her second goal, scoring in traffic.

In goal, Jessica Ballow made nine saves for The Berg. Anna Winnicki was credited with a team-high five ground balls.

Heidelberg will thaw out for a week before returning to action on Apr. 11 -- on the road at Ohio Northern.
