WLAX ends season on the road

ALLIANCE, Ohio -- The Heidelberg University women's lacrosse team wrapped up its inaugural season with a loss on the road. The Berg fell to Mount Union, 25-1.

The Student Princes wrap up their first season with an 0-12 record. Mount Union improved to 11-3 and claimed a share of the OAC regular season championship.

Heidelberg's lone goal came from the stick of Dana Dudley. Her tally came at the 18:02 mark of the first half. Dudley, a native of Olney, Maryland, has scored at least one goal in each game this season. In total, she has amassed 23 to lead Heidelberg.

In goal, Janessa Scott made six saves in the loss. An all-conference volleyball player, Scott finished the season with 96 saves.

On Saturday, Mount Union was led by Ashley Bernardi (five goals) and Shannon Ellsworth (four goals).

Despite going scoreless on Saturday, Anna Winnicki (11 goals) and Megan Mills (seven goals) also provided an offensive spark for Head Coach Rosie Knisley's squad throughout the season.
