MASON, Ohio – The Heidelberg University men's tennis team won their second-consecutive match on Saturday, topping Marietta College 6-3 at the Linder Family Tennis Center. The Student Princes improved to 4-6 (1-2 OAC) with the win while Marietta fell to 9-13 (1-4 OAC).
Heidelberg took two of the three doubles matches to get out to a 2-1 lead. At first doubles, Jonathan Long and Ben Moore won 8-4, improving their record as a pair to 4-4 on the season.
Paul Claymier and Kyle Simpson grinded out an 8-6 win at third doubles for their first win together of the year.
In singles action, Moore, Long, and Tyler Flickinger all won in two sets while Simpson came back after dropping the first set to win a third-set tiebreaker to give the Berg the win in four of the six singles matches.
Heidelberg will be right back on the courts at the Linder Family Tennis Center on Sunday, April 17th, when they face Muskingum at 9:00 a.m.
