TEN: Student Princes' season comes to a close

TIFFIN, Ohio -- The 2019 spring season came to a close for both Heidelberg University tennis teams on Wednesday afternoon. Both the men and the women were upended by John Carroll University by scores of 9-0.

On the men's side, the program honored senior Alex Sprague for his contributions to the team over the years. Sprague competed at fifth singles but was upended 6-0, 6-0. Both Ryan Newman and Jordan Robbins had hard fought matches at fourth and sixth singles. Newman was ahead 3-2 before an ankle injury limited the rest of his match and the freshman fell 6-3, 6-0. Robbins dropped his first set 6-0, but battled in the second set before falling 6-3.

On the women's side, the Blue Streaks took a clean sweep of games en route to their 9-0 win. The Student Princes were also forced to forfeit third doubles and sixth singles.

The women conclude their season with a record of 3-9 (1-7 OAC), while the men end at 2-7 (1-6).
