Box Score TIFFIN, Ohio -- On Senior Day, the Heidelberg University women's soccer team defeated Wilmington College 2-0. It was the final match of the 2016 season for the Student Princes. HU closes out the year 7-9-3, 2-5-1 in Ohio Athletic Conference action. The Quakers end their season with a 6-7-4 record, 2-5-1 in conference play.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Abigail Callahan scored her fourth goal of the season in the 10th minute. Denise Bowes dribbled to the right corner and served a pass into the box. Callahan one-touched the ball with her right foot, giving the Tricolor a 1-0 lead with the strike.
Heidelberg pushed the score to 2-0 thanks to an insurance goal by Bowes. The Berg was awarded a free kick just outside the box. The ball bounced back and forth between HU attackers and Quaker defenders before Bowes slid a shot into the back of the net. It was Bowes' third goal of the season -- seventh in her HU career.
In the 55th minute, Wilmington had an opportunity to knot the score at one. A wide open Haley Burge launched a shot from 15 yards out. Heidelberg goalkeeper Alexandra Farmer got a piece of the shot, and flicked it over the crossbar to preserve the clean sheet.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
Farmer tallied ten saves while recording her fifth shutout of the season. Wilmington's Ana Hosler and Leda Moyer split time in goal for the Quakers, combining for two saves.
The Quakers outshot the Berg 19-13 in the match.
At halftime, Heidelberg recognized its seven seniors for their contributions to the program. Bowes, Anna DeAngelis, Alyssa Gable, Lindsey Marcum, Alexandra Sivec, Kenzie Lundqvist, and Julia Miller all earned the start for the Tricolor in their final collegiate match.
