ALLIANCE, Ohio – The Heidelberg University men's tennis team was swept on the road on Saturday, falling to Mount Union 9-0. In doubles play, the Student Princes were unable to rally for a single game, while in singles, the first and second matches were competitive for a short while.
At first singles, Ben Moore was able to take a few games from Malcolm Leake of the Purple Raiders, battling to stay in it. Moore went on to fall 6-2, 6-3.
In the second singles match, Tyler Flickinger dropped a 6-2 first set before being unable to keep it close in the second, falling 6-1.
The Student Princes dropped to 0-8 overall for the season with an 0-2 mark in the Ohio Athletic Conference while Mount Union improved to 10-4 (2-2 OAC).
Heidelberg will be back on the courts for their next match on Wednesday, April 8th, when they take on Capital. That OAC match is scheduled to begin at 3:30 p.m. in Tiffin.
