Men's, Women's tennis fall at Adrian

ADRIAN, Mich. – The Heidelberg University men's and women's tennis teams dropped their matches with Adrian College on Monday. The women had a hard-fought 5-4 loss to the Bulldogs while the men fell 9-0.

Sofey Fugate and Nicole Millar led the Berg on the afternoon, both winning their singles and doubles matches. Fugate and Millar paired up to take their doubles match 9-8 with a 7-5 tiebreaker. At first singles, Fugate won 6-3, 7-6 (7-4) while Millar picked up a 6-1, 3-6, 12-10 victory at second singles. Markilynn Hogle was the other winner on the day for the Student Princes, picking up a 6-4, 6-4 win at third singles.

For the men, Jonathan Long and Austin Buckhalter had the closest doubles match, falling 8-5 at second doubles. Each of the singles matches were decided in two sets, with Ben Moore falling 1-6, 2-6 at first singles.

The women dropped to 1-1 on the year while the men fell to 0-1. Both teams do not have another scheduled match until their spring season, which includes the OAC Tournament in late April.
