NEW CONCORD, Ohio -- The Heidelberg University men's tennis team improved to 6-4, 1-1 OAC, with a sweep of Muskingum University on Sunday. The match was delayed a day due to inclement weather.
Ben Moore and Dan Driscoll did not drop a set on the afternoon. At third doubles, Moore and Driscoll paired up to defeat Ben Windland and Gene Montgomery 8-0. Moore, at third singles, swept his Muskie counterpart while Driscoll did the same at sixth singles.
At fourth singles, Tyler Flickinger swept Mitch Hazzard, 6-0 6-0.
Flickinger and Matt McDivitt won the match at second doubles by a score of 8-2. McDivitt won his singles match 6-1 6-0.
The most highly-contested match of the day was at first singles. Heidelberg's Zach Schwenning edged Coy Engstrom, 7-6 (7-2) 7-6 (7-4).
Schwenning and Dorion Kempf took down the Muskies at first doubles, 8-3. Kempf won second singles, 6-3 6-0.
The Student Princes host Mount Union on Saturday. The match kicks off at 1 p.m.
