Keenan's assists propel women's soccer to victory

Box Score

TIFFIN – A pair of second half goals lifted the Heidelberg University women's soccer team to victory over Muskingum University on Saturday.

Kristen Keenan had both assists in the 2-0 win, as Heidelberg improved to 3-13-1, 2-5 OAC.

In the 66th minute, Christina Neal knocked in a bouncing ball sent in by Keenan for her fifth goal of the season.

With less than seven minutes to play, the Student Princes added an insurance goal.  Marisa Mowery recorded her first collegiate goal as she deflected in a cross from Keenan.

Muskingum (8-7-2, 1-6 OAC) attempted seven shots, but Heidelberg's Molly Schriber saved both of the shots on goal.

For Schriber, who along with Bethany Mattern was honored before the game on Senior Day, it was her second clean sheet of the season.

With two games remaining in the regular season, Heidelberg holds on to slim playoff hopes.  The Student Princes need to win out and get help in order to receive a berth into the OAC tournament.

Heidelberg hosts John Carroll on Wednesday at 4 p.m.  The game will be held at the Hidden Valley Soccer Complex.
