Box Score ADA, Ohio – Senior goalkeeper Molly Schriber stopped a season-high 15 shots, but Heidelberg University women's soccer lost 3-0 at Ohio Northern University on Tuesday afternoon.
Ohio Northern (9-6-1, 5-1 OAC) struck with a goal in the 17th minute. Sandra Thorarensen took a pass from Abbie Schauble and beat a diving Schriber. The goal was Thorarensen's seventh of the season.
In the second half, the Polar Bears continued to control the flow of the game.
In the 52nd minute, Kristina Klusek headed in a free kick from Sara Rutherford for her sixth goal of the season.
Less than five minutes later, Michaela Gutierrez scored her first goal of the year on a cross into the penalty area by Lauren Brown.
Heidelberg (2-13-1, 1-5 OAC) was unable to crack ONU goalkeeper Emily Brodict. Brodict stopped all five shots levied by the Student Princes.
Schriber had 15 saves in the losing effort.
With three games to play, the Student Princes sit two games out of the race for one of six spots in the OAC tournament. They will look to begin the charge on Saturday when they host Muskingum on Senior Day. The game is slated for a 1 p.m. start at the Hidden Valley Soccer Complex.
