TIFFIN, Ohio – The Heidelberg University Department of Athletics is proud to announce that two teams and three individuals were recognized throughout the summer for their academic accomplishments during the 2025-26 school year. The programs making the list were volleyball and baseball, and individuals from men's and women's soccer. 

 

The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) announced that over 1400 High School and College teams earned the Team Academic Award. In order to qualify for the award, teams must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.3 or above. The Student Princes were honored for their academic achievements. 

 

The Heidelberg baseball team was one of only 500 teams that earned the Team Academic Excellence Award presented by the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA). ABCA member programs must post a cumulative team GPA of 3.0 or higher to earn the award. Coach Fitzgerald and his team made the list for the eighth year in a row.

 
The United Soccer Coaches announced on Friday the 451 women's teams that posted a team GPA of 3.0 or higher during the 2025-26 academic year. Coach Madalynn McLaughlin and her team earned the USC Team Academic Award for their cumulative 3.7 team GPA. 
 

As for individual awards, the Ohio Collegiate Soccer Association awards Academic All-Ohio status to players that meet the following criteria: any Ohio college soccer player in their junior or senior year of competition, has achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.3 or higher, and has earned the position of starter or makes significant contributions to the team's success. 

 

Senior keeper Brigid Enright earned first team honors for achieving a 3.8 GPA while majoring in Health Science.

 

Senior defender Olivia Perry earned second team honors for attaining a 4.0 while earning her MBA.

 

For the men's team, Junior defender Kaiden Reed earned second team honors for achieving a 3.9 GPA while studying Sports Business.
