TIFFIN -- As the students come back to campus for the new school year, Heidelberg University Athletics welcomes many new faces to the staff for the 2026-27 season.

MEN'S SOCCER
Dr. Brian Haley returns to the team support staff after eight years, focusing on mental performance. A 2025 inductee into the Heidelberg Athletics Hall of Fame, Dr. Haley coached at Heidelberg for 26 years and tallied 243 victories. Over his years, he coached 40 All-OAC honorees and two All-Americans. He will join third-year head coach Michael Wright and assistant coach/recruitment coordinator Sean Tinney, along with assistant coach Davey Briggs.

WOMEN'S SOCCER
Head Coach Madalynn McLaughlin has added Kade Mitchell to the coaching staff as assistant coach. Mitchell previously served as the head women's soccer coach at Hesston College. Before entering the collegiate level, he spent four years coaching at the high school level. Mitchell played soccer at Texas A&M University. Mitchell's tenure began in May.

FOOTBALL
Head Coach Scott Donaldson adds three new members to his staff -- one assistant coach and two graduate assistants.

Isaac Wilson arrived as an assistant coach after one year at Franklin College as the defensive line coach. While there, he coached two All-conference defensive ends. Wilson, a 2025 graduate of John Carroll, played four years as defensive lineman. 

Troy Miller, a 2024 graduate of Trine University, joins the staff as a graduate assistant. After four years on the field, Miller spent one year coaching at Margaretta High School.

Kingston Mabatah, a 2024 Heidelberg graduate, also joins the staff as a graduate assistant. Mabatah played four years for The Berg and coached high school football one year.

CROSS COUNTRY / TRACK & FIELD
In his third year, Head Coach Daniel Simpson adds Tanner McMain to the staff as the cross country/distance track graduate assistant. McMain is a 2026 graduate from Trine University, where he competed four years on the cross country and track teams. 

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
Jon Gin enters into his first year as head coach for the 2026-27 season. Gin graduated from North Florida, and later earned his graduate from Trevecca Nazarene University. Gin previously served five years as head coach for Anderson University. While there, he compiled a .530 record and coached the two-time HCAC Player of the Year. Prior to Anderson, he served as an assistant coach for eight years across several programs. 

Joining Gin for the 2026-27 season is assistant coach Morgan Douglass. A graduate of Covenant College, she played 82 career games over four years. Douglass went on to be assistant coach at Covenant for two years, where she first coached alongside Gin. From 2021-26, Douglass coached women's golf and served as Gin's assistant coach at Anderson University. 

VOLLEYBALL
Jason Miller welcomes graduate assistant Beyoncé Pierce for the 2026-27 season. Pierce joins the program after playing four years at Washington & Jefferson College as defensive specialist/outside hitter. 

SWIMMING
Head coach Ben Rath adds two new graduate assistants to his staff. Wiktoria Bidnik, a 2026 graduate from St Thomas University and Grace Bodrock, a 2026 graduate from Bowling Green State University. 

SOFTBALL
Head coach Mari Briggs welcomes Chloe McClure as a graduate assistant for the 2027 season. McClure graduated from Ashland University in 2025, where she played three years. 

SPORTS INFORMATION
Jeff Garvin enters his 15th year as Director of Athletic Marketing and Sports Information and welcomes a new graduate assistant to the office. Kerryann Copenhaver, a Bellefontaine, Ohio native, joins after serving as a student worker in the Heidelberg Sports Information office from 2022-2026.
