Tiffin, Ohio -- The Heidelberg University Baseball team lost twice to No. 17 Baldwin Wallace on Wednesday, falling 11-6 in the opener and 7-1 in the nightcap. Heidelberg slipped to 13-20 overall, 4-8 in the OAC. BW improved to 24-8, 11-3.
GAME ONE: BW 11-11-1 BERG 6-11-1
In the bottom of the first, Heidelberg put up two runs to take a 2-0 lead, off of a
Grant Bomer single up the middle that brought Bradey Limke home, and
Thomas McGuire hit a double down the right field line to bring home
Grant Bomer.
The Yellow Jackets plated three to take the lead in the top of the third and continued their scoring efforts in the fifth and sixth, pushing their lead up 6-2.
In the bottom of the seventh, the Student Princes put up another two-spot to cut the deficit to 6-4.
Logan Winstead walked and motored to third on a double by
Simeon Betts. Limke followed with an RBI groundout. After a walk and a pitching change, Bomer drove in Betts with a sacrifice fly.
Down 8-4 in the eighth, Heidelberg put another two of their own off of a Bradey Limke single up the middle that plated McGuire and Bradyen Tucker.
In the top of the ninth, the Yellow Jackets added another three runs, pushing their lead to 11-6. Heidelberg threatened in the bottom of the inning, but did not score.
GAME TWO: BW 7-10-1 BERG 1-3-2
Ahead 3-0 in the fifth, the Yellow Jackets added another three runs.
Heidelberg got on the board in the seventh.
Sam Schneider doubled and scampered to third on a throwing error. He slid in safely on a sac fly by Garrett Labeau.
BW added one more run in the eighth before stormy weather rolled in, forcing a premature end to the game.

Heidelberg will host Otterbein on Saturday for a 1 p.m. doubleheader. The Senior Day festivities will start before game one.
