FT. PIERCE, Fla. -- The Heidelberg University Baseball team fell to the United States Merchant Marine Academy on Thursday. The Cadets pulled away late, winning 18-4.
Heidelberg dropped to 6-5 on the season.
A run on a passed ball allowed HU to score in the bottom of the first.
USMMA led 12-1 in the bottom of the sixth when Heidelberg cut into the lead.
Brayden Tucker tripled and scored on a hit by
Carter Dubois. Later, a sacrifice fly by
Braedy Limke drove in Dubois.
In the seventh, USMMA put up six more. HU added one on a
Shane Jones RBI double.
'Berg pitchers issued 11 walks on the afternoon.
On Friday, Heidelberg will finish up Sunday's suspended game with Washington College before playing the Shoremen again.
