STEUBENVILLE, Ohio -- In a seven-team field, the Heidelberg University Women's Golf team took home a runner-up finish at the Franciscan Fall Invitational. Heidelberg shot 367 as a team, nine strokes ahead of third-place Marietta. Washington & Jefferson won with a 331.
Lydia Dietz was first for Heidelberg, carding a 40-45--85. She was even through five and had two birdies on the day. Her +13 was good for seventh.
Brooke Barnes was three shots back, placing eighth with a 48-40--88. Her round was bolstered by consecutive birdies on 15 and 16.
Danielle Powell (94) tied for 14th and
Lexie Honigford (100) tied for 21st, rounding out the scorers for Heidelberg.
Elizabeth Jackson, Heidelberg's fifth, carded a 101.
Playing as individuals,
Adi Kramer tied for 16th with a 96,
Cate Reinhart had a 107 and
Paige Kearns shot a 118.
Heidelberg gets back on the course at next weekend's OAC Preview at River Greens Golf Club. The two-round event starts Saturday and concludes Sunday.
