GENEVA, Pa. -- After 90 minutes of scoreless soccer, the Heidelberg University Women's Soccer team moved to 1-4-2 on the season. The Student Princes enjoyed a lion's share of possession and outshot the Golden Tornadoes, 20-3, but walked away with the 0-0 tie.
After a scoreless first half, Heidelberg dialed up the intensity. In the 58th minute,
Syd Hewer and
Ella Jacobs each had shots, but Hewer's was saved and the shot by Jacobs sailed just wide.Â
The Student Princes had many more chances, including at least two that hit the crossbar. Geneva's chances were few and fleeting, as the well-organized back line for HU stood strong.
In the second half, Heidelberg outshot the Golden Tornadoes, 13-1, but neither team managed to find a goal.
Brianna Braatz tallied six shots and Hewer finished with three.
Goalkeeper
Brigid Enright earned her first shutout of the season, stopping two shots.
Heidelberg returns to action on Wednesday at Oberlin. The contest is slated for a 7:30 p.m. kickoff. Â
