MARIETTA -- The Heidelberg University Women's Basketball team dropped a contest to Ohio Athletic Conference rival Marietta on Saturday 84-67. With the loss, Heidelberg slips to 3-18, 2-12 in conference play. Marietta moves to 13-8 overall, 7-7 in OAC play.


Heidelberg had a strong start, leading after the first quarter 19-17. Marietta went on a 16-0 run before Heidelberg scored in the second and led the rest of the way.

Morgan Altenburger led all Heidelberg players with 15 points and 17 rebounds - picking up her sixth double-double of the season. The 17 boards tie a career-high for the 'Berg senior.

Chloe Gilbert added 12 points, and Kami Whiteaker contributed 10 points off the bench. 

The Student Princes totaled 36 points in the paint and outrebounded the hosts 50-36.  

Heidelberg hosts Ohio Northern on Wednesday, Feb. 12, at 7 p.m.
