WBB drops OAC lid-lifter

Box Score WILMINGTON, Ohio -- The Heidelberg University Women's Basketball team dropped its conference opener, falling at Wilmington, 82-59.  The Quakers opened up an early lead and prevented the Student Princes from clawing their way back. 

Tori See had a team-high 21 points, shooting 8-for-15 from the floor. She added seven rebounds.  Brenna Williams scored 15 off the bench for HU and Malia Mizeres added 11 points and eight rebounds. Hannah Hunt had eight boards. 

Wilmington started on a 13-2 run, but only led by six after one. A strong second quarter helped the hosts push their advantage to 46-25 by halftime. 

Heidelberg held a slim advantage in the third, outscoring the Quakers, 23-22. Wilmington kept HU at bay in the fourth en route to the victory. 

The Student Princes enjoyed a slim edge on the glass, 37-36. 

The Quakers were hot from beyond the arc, shooting 10-for-18 from three. 

Abby Tier and Evie Burke made their season debuts for HU. 

Heidelberg will return to action after final exams, traveling to Otterbein on Saturday for a 3 p.m. contest.
