MLAX falls to Capital at home

TIFFIN – The Heidelberg University men's lacrosse team fell to Capital on Wednesday evening, 15-1. Quincy Grevious scored the lone goal for Heidelberg late in the fourth quarter–his fourth of the season.

The Student Princes fell to 4-7 overall, 1-2 in the OAC. Capital improved to 3-6 overall, 3-0 in OAC play.

The visitors got on the board first just two minutes into the game when Ty Chase laced one into goal for the Comets. Chase scored two more goals of his own while three other Comets scored, making the score 6-0 after one quarter of play. Capital added seven more goals in the second, taking the 13-0 lead into the half.

The Comets continued their scoring in the third quarter, scoring two more goals in the third, while outshooting Heidelberg 11-4.

Quincy Grevious broke the Heidelberg scoring drought late in the fourth quarter when he came off the left side and stuck it in goal. Neither would score again leading to the 15-1 defeat for the Student Princes.

Goalie Wilson Runnette tallied 15 saves in the loss. Jonathan Brickman and Braxton Hammond each picked up three ground balls against the Comets. Brickman had a game-high three caused turnovers.

The team is back in action on Saturday as they host Marietta at Hoernemann Stadium. The game is set for a 1 p.m. start.
