TIFFIN -- Heidelberg University Athletic Director Greg Cooper announced on Thursday that he has accepted the resignation of Head Women's Basketball Coach Rachel Mease. Mease's resignation is effective March 1. 

Mease recently completed her fourth season at the helm of the program. She was the 10th head coach in program history. 

Cooper also announced that Erin Eaton, in her first year at Heidelberg, has been named as the interim head coach of the program. Eaton's career has included stints as the head coach at Muskingum and Pitt-Greensburg and as an assistant coach at Catholic and Baldwin Wallace. 

A full search for the next head coach of the Heidelberg Women's Basketball program will begin in the next few days.
