Berg stumbles at Otterbein

WESTERVILLE –A slow start in the first quarter was all it took for Otterbein to pull away, as the Cardinals defeated the Heidelberg Women's Basketball team 57-36.

The loss dropped the Student Princes to 0-7 overall and 0-3 in the Ohio Athletic Conference, while Otterbein improved to 3-4 and 1-1 in conference play.

Ashley Ballard led Heidelberg with 11 points, including three 3-pointers. She also shared the team lead in rebounds with Jewel Persinger and Morgan Altenburger, each recording five.

Otterbein dominated points off turnovers, outscoring Heidelberg 32-8, while both teams scored six points on fast breaks.

Heidelberg will return to action on Wednesday, Dec. 18, at 6:00 p.m. against Hiram College in Seiberling Gymnasium.
