Berg struggles in second half against Hiram

TIFFIN – After a tight first quarter, the Heidelberg Women's Basketball team dropped a non-conference contest to Hiram College on Wednesday, 77-58. The Student Princes struggled from beyond the arc, going 1-for-15.  

The loss dropped the Student Princes to 0-8 overall, 0-3 in Ohio Athletic Conference play, while Hiram improved to 7-3, 0-1 in the North Coast Athletic Conference.

Chloe Gilbert led Heidelberg with 20 points, while Morgan Altenburger added 19 points and 9 rebounds. The team went a combined 17-30 from the charity stripe. 

HU's bench outscored the Terrier reserves, 28-17. Both teams found success around the hoop, scoring a combined 78 points in the paint.  

The Student Princes committed seven turnovers in the first quarter, but only had four turnovers over the final 30 minutes.   

Heidelberg is off through the holiday and will return to action on Monday, Dec. 30th, at 3 p.m. against Kenyon College in Seiberling Gymnasium.
