WESTERVILLE, Ohio – After a career performance against Otterbein in the Rhine River Cup, freshman
Ethan Ramsdail has been named the OAC Special Teams Player of the Week—his first time earning the honor.
On Saturday, Heidelberg dominated Otterbein 55-7 in the 32nd Rhine River Cup. Up 14-7 early in the second quarter, the Berg offense stalled at the Cardinal 25-yard line. Ramsdail trotted out and nailed a beautiful 35-yard field goal, extending the lead to 10. He added two more PATs in the quarter before drilling another field goal from 34 yards out, pushing the score to 34-7 with 4:33 remaining in the first half. Ramsdail went on to add three more PATs over the course of the game.
On the day, Ramsdail was responsible for 13 points (two FGs and seven PATs). He is only the third kicker in the history of the Rhine River Cup with two field goals in a single game, joining Heidelberg's Jeff Kurweil (1994) and Branden Steckel (2020 and 2022).
For the season, he has connected on 31 PATs, seven field goals, and has logged 17 kickoffs totaling 925 yards.
The football team will travel to Wilmington on Nov. 9 for the final road game of the season. Kickoff is slated for 1:30 p.m.
