WILMINGTON -- Returning to action on Saturday, the Heidelberg University Cross Country team had a solid performance at the Jenna Strong Invitational, hosted by Wilmington. The men's side took ninth and the women's squad was 11th.
Connor Ladd was first across the line for the Student Princes, running a 26:02.4 -- good for 11th overall. Hudson Black finished with a time of 26:56.3, taking 47th. Joe Brewster was next, placing 54th with a time of 27:05.5. Tyler Huff ran a 28:06.6, placing 66th, and Trenton Hole's time of 27:40.6, good for 74th.
The men's side scored 11-47-54-66-74.
On the women's side, HU scored 48-65-93-134-141.
Kenzie Fountain led the way for the Berg, running a 20:32.6 in the 5K race. Caitlin Schwartz was next with a time of 20:36.8, followed by Emily Pullano and her time of 20:58.5. Maddy McCall was fourth for HU, running a 21:54.8. Emma Hintze was the fifth scorer, clocking a 23:31.1.
The Berg hits the trail on Nov. 2 at the OAC Championships here in Tiffin.
