MARIETTA – The Heidelberg University Women's Basketball team faced Marietta to start the second round of conference action on Saturday, where they fell, 84-57.
Heidelberg was led by a 16-point, 12-rebound double-double from
Cheyanne Bean – her fourth of the season.
Amari Slaughter also put up 10 points in the loss.
After the first quarter, the Pioneers held an 18-6 lead and enjoyed a 39-24 advantage at halftime.
Marietta showed their best out of the half as they shot 57.89%, scoring 25 to Heidelberg's 13 in the third quarter.
The Student Princes were able to stay even with the hosts in the fourth -- matching their 20 points.
Chloe Gilbert tallied four assists while
Lillian White added two.
The women's team heads to John Carroll (9-8, 4-6 OAC) on Wednesday for a 7 p.m. start time.
