McVicker and Corrigan homer in win at Oberlin

OBERLIN -- Home runs from Adam McVicker and Aidan Corrigan helped lift the Heidelberg University baseball team to a 4-2 win at Oberlin College.  The victory extended The Berg's overall win streak to four games and their streak against Oberlin to seven.

Camden Farley had four of HU's 11 hits on the afternoon while Wednesday's hero, Andrew Cook, added a pair.

McVicker's team-leading seventh homer of the season came with one out in the third.  After Farley stroked a single, McVicker turned on the first pitch of the at bat and lined it into the trees beyond the Dill Field fence.  Cook followed with a double to the wall in center, then scored on a base hit through the right side by Garrett Labeau.

Ahead 3-1 in the fifth, Corrigan led off with his second home run of the season - a blast to right center.

Despite yielding a total of eight walks, the 'Berg pitching staff made the four runs hold up.  Nicolas Lavelle threw four full innings, allowing one run on three hits.  Orion Kroah went 1.1 innings and yielded a run on four hits.

Vincent Marimpietri (1-0) was credited with the win, giving up no runs on one hit.  Corey Brafford (Sv., 2) slammed the door without conceding a run in 2.1 innings.

Heidelberg's last loss to the Yeomen came in 1988.

The Student Princes are scheduled to travel to No. 14 Marietta for a Saturday doubleheader.  First pitch is slated for 1 p.m.
