TIFFIN -- The Heidelberg University men's lacrosse team opened their Spring Break three game homestand feature against Washington and Jefferson on Saturday. Three goals from the Student Princes weren't enough as they fell, 10-3, to the Presidents.
The Presidents improved to 2-2 while the Student Princes fell to 1-2.Â
Maximillian Hatty,
Benjamin Evans and
Jacob Brickman all found the net for Heidelberg in the second half.Â
W&J led 2-0 after the first and boosted their score to 3-0 by the half. Brickman made his shot off of an assist from Evans late in the third. The Presidents refused to back down and scored one of their own just 16 seconds later.Â
Evans picked up his goal at the start of the fourth, assisted by
Tyler Alexander. Hatty capped off Heidelberg scoring with two minutes to play off a pass from
Jaydon Septer. Â
In goal,
Wilson Runnette saved 18 saves, just one less than his career-high.Â
Septer was 6-for-12 in faceoffs.
Braxton Hammond led with six ground balls, followed by Septer with four.Â
The Student Princes return to Hoernemann Stadium next Wednesday as they take on the Earlham Quakers for a 7 p.m. start time.Â
