ANGOLA, Ind. --
Tyler Alexander scored all three goals for the Heidelberg University men's lacrosse team in a 13-3 loss at Trine University on Wednesday night. With the setback, the Student Princes slid to 1-1 on the young season.
Alexander, who scored five times in the season-opening win over Mount St. Joseph, scored all three of his goals in the fourth quarter against the Thunder.
Trine led 3-0 after the first and held a 9-0 edge at halftime. Alexander's first, assisted by
Jaydon Septer, came midway through the fourth. His final two goals were unassisted.
In goal,
Wilson Runnette made a career-high 19 saves.
Septer was 8-for-17 in faceoffs and scooped up three ground balls.
Braxton Hammond caused a team-high two turnovers.
The Student Princes return to Hoernemann Stadium for a three-game homestand over spring break. Saturday's game against Washington & Jefferson has been pushed back to a 2 p.m. start.
