TIFFIN – A rainy and windy Saturday afternoon was the scene for a matchup between the Heidelberg University men's lacrosse team against the Scots of Alma College. The Student Princes were unable to control the ball or break the defense, falling 12-1.
Heidelberg dropped to 0-6 on the season.
Cian Howery amassed 24 saves in the loss, breaking his own program record (23 vs. CAP, March 20, 2021).
The Student Princes held tough, only allowing one goal in the first period. Down 2-0 in the second,
Alex Bruder took advantage of the man-up opportunity and slammed one in the net.
Heidelberg remained scoreless throughout the rest of the game, but rallied to only allow two goals in the fourth.
Alma took 58 shots, 36 of which were on goal. Meanwhile, Heidelberg tallied 15, and six on goal.
Anar Tumurbaatar led the Scots with five goals. Haden Johnson of Alma, had four of his own, one of which was behind the back.
Braxton Hammond had all three caused turnovers for the Tricolor.
Heidelberg will be back at home again on Wednesday, facing Adrian College. Gametime is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
