Box Score BLUFFTON, Ohio -- A second quarter push set the Heidelberg University women's basketball team behind in a deficit too deep, falling to Bluffton University, 79-57. Bluffton started the second quarter on a 14-2 run to distance themselves from the Student Princes.
Heidelberg falls to 1-2 on the young season. The Beavers improve to 2-1.
Alyssa Riley led the Student Prince offense with 19 points, including a 5-8 mark from three. Sophomore Maddy Crawford added 13 points and six rebounds for the Berg.
The Beavers controlled the first half, taking a 41-26 lead into the break.
Despite outscoring Bluffton in the third quarter, the deficit proved to be too much for the visitors to battle back from.
Heidelberg committed 23 turnovers compared to Bluffton's 13.
The Student Princes are back in action Saturday afternoon at Thomas More College. Tipoff against the Saints is scheduled for 4 p.m.
