TIFFIN – Led by head coach
Brian Grime, the Heidelberg track & field team is ready to take on the spring season following a good showing during the indoor season.
Last spring, the women's team finished 8th overall at the OAC Championships, while the men placed 9th.
IN THE POLLS:
The men's team were selected eighth with 21 points and the women's team came in seventh with 26 points.
ROSTER BREAKDOWN:
On the men's side, there are 28 student-athletes competing for Heidelberg. They will be led by junior Brett Reed (distance) and freshman Jake McEntyre (sprints).
The women have 22 student-athletes competing this spring. Leading them will be seniors
Liv Bean (Hurdles/LJ) and
Isabel Chasney (distance). Sophomore Lexi Wachtman (Hurdles/LJ) and freshman Maddy McCall (distance) will also be key contributors for the Student Princes.
QUOTE FROM GRIME:
We are excited to kick off the season in some warm weather in S.C. We had a lot of good things happen indoors, but we have more to build on if we want to improve within the conference. Both groups are hungry and working hard, we have a lot to look forward to.
THE SCHEDULE:
The teams opened up outdoor competition yesterday in Myrtle Beach, S.C. as they participate in the Alan Connie Shamrock Inv. from March 16th-18th. Heidelberg will host two events this spring. The annual Tiffelberg Open on Saturday, April 1st at Hoernemann Stadium and the Tiffin Track Carnival April 14th-April 15th. The OAC Championships will be held May 4th-5th in Alliance.
