Leading your college soccer team in scoring for one season is impressive. Leading your college soccer team in scoring four years is incredible. But leading the juggernaut Heidelberg Women’s Soccer teams in the 1990s four straight years is nothing short of phenomenal. But that is exactly what Sarah Williams Kipp accomplished from 1994-1997 for the Student Princes.

Hailing from Cincinnati, Kipp joined a Heidelberg team fresh off a sweep of the OAC Championships in 1993. Wasting no time slotting into Des Lawless’s lineup, she posted 11 goals and nine assists as a freshman in 1994.

During the 1995 campaign, she set a program record with a 59-point season, tallying 21 goals and 17 assists -- earning Ohio Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Year honors. That season, The Berg went 18-2, swept the league titles, and made the first of two consecutive trips to NCAA Regionals.

She excelled during her junior and senior years as well, putting up 18 goals and nine assists in 1996 and 14 goals and 21 assists in 1997.

Kipp was a three-time All-OAC First Team selection -- one of five players in program history to accomplish the feat. She remains Heidelberg’s single-season leader for points (59) and assists (21), and career leader for assists (56). With 184 career points, she is second in school history and fifth in OAC history.

As a member of the track & field team, Kipp won the javelin throw at the 1996 OAC Outdoor Championship held on campus. Her throw of 127-6 won by nearly five feet.

Today, Kipp resides in Mentor, Ohio, where she is a Senior Director for Global Third Party Management at Lubrizol. Along with her husband, Shawn, her son, Ian, and her stepchildren, Josh and Kaitlyn, Sarah enjoys boating and vacationing.
