Heidelberg Athletics Hall of Fame
In 2015, Bart Randolph accepted the Hall of Fame induction honors on behalf of his late brother Matt ’94, also a standout Heidelberg wrestler. And as Bart delivered a poignant speech mixed with humor and heart, many around the room wondered if, soon, he would be delivering his own Hall of Fame acceptance speech.  Â
The elder Randolph was Heidelberg Wrestling’s second-ever three-time national qualifier (1989, 1990, 1991), competing at 190 pounds. He was a dominant force in the Ohio Athletic Conference, winning the tournament title in 1989 and 1990 and finishing as runner-up in 1988 and 1991. Â
As a sophomore, Randolph compiled a 32-7 record and set a then-program record for wins in a single campaign. At the conference tournament, he punched his ticket to the NCAA Tournament in University Heights, Ohio, after beating Wittenberg’s Scott Peters in the finals, 11-4. At the NCAAs, he went 1-2.Â
During the 1989-90 season, he beat John Carroll’s Corey Bowser in the OAC Finals to earn a berth at the NCAA Tournament in Ithaca, N.Y. There, he again went 1-2.Â
Over the course of his illustrious four-year career, one forged by many hours of wrestling practice and rough-and-tumble games of scuttle in the old Tin Gym, Randolph native won 94 matches -- a program record at the time. At the present, he is eighth on the program’s all-time wins list. Â
Today, Randolph continues to reside in his home town of Wadsworth. He has been an administrator with the Cloverleaf Local Schools and is currently the associate principal at the high school.Â
Now married to his wife Becky ’94 for 35 years, the couple has eight children -- Bart II, Brandon, Brett, Brody, Kendall, Karsyn, Gianna, and Micah. In addition to spoiling his three grandchildren, Randolph enjoys the outdoors and attending sporting events.
