TIFFIN, Ohio -- The Heidelberg University Volleyball team hosted the second annual Spike Night Under the Lights. The Student Princes defeated Tiffin University in three sets: 25-23, 25-14, 25-17.
Heidelberg moves to 12-3 on the season, with a chain of 25 straight set wins.
Although the weather did not allow the games to be held outside, the energy transferred indoors. Hundreds of friends, families, and community members gathered for the fight against cancer.
Emily Miller led the offense for the night, tallying 11 kills against the Dragons.
Riley Tople added seven.
Defensively, Tople dominated the net, recording 4.5 blocks on the night.
Soraya Jackson and
Sophia Simon each added three.
The setter duo of
Maddie Reed and
Olivia Miller each tallied 12 assists.
The back line worked in unison throughout the sets.
Reagan Davis led the way with 9 digs.
Olivia Miller added seven, and
Kailee Rank six.
The Student Princes will return to Seiberling Gymnasium on Wednesday, Sept. 23rd to take on the University of Northern Ohio. The teams will take to the court at 7 p.m.
