CLEVELAND, Ohio -- The Heidelberg University Softball team wrapped up the regular season with a 5-2 setback at Case Western Reserve University on a blustery Sunday in Northeast Ohio. The Student Princes will head into the postseason with a 26-14 record.
The Spartans scored two unearned runs in the first, then added runs with solo homers in the second and the fourth.
After squandering an opportunity with bases loaded and no one out in the fourth, HU cut into their deficit in the fifth.

Alexis Burton followed with an RBI groundout. CWRU would escape further damage.
Haley Gockstetter (L, 17-4) limited the hosts to five runs (three earned) on five hits.
Heidelberg will face Wilmington in the opening round of the Ohio Athletic Conference tournament on Thursday at 3 p.m. The six-team tournament is a single-elimination format hosted by No. 1 seed Mount Union in Alliance, Ohio.
