TIFFIN -- The Heidelberg University track and field teams competed at the annual Jud Logan Light Giver Invitational hosted by Ashland University. The teams posted several impressive marks amongst their largest competition yet.
SPRINTS & HURDLES
 In the 400m,
Brianna Braatz ran a 1:01.06, placing her 15th overall. In the open women's 400m,
Emily Valencia took 9th with a time of 1:02.82.Â
In the open men's 400m
Tyreese Clerveau placed 10th at 50.91.Â
MID-DISTANCE
Freshman
Adam Scott finished 9th in the 800m with a time of 1:55.27.
James Henderson followed at 1:56.84, and
Augie Schweickert at 1:59.67.
DISTANCE
Vanessa Shanaman took 15th in the 3000m with a PR of 18:54.64. For the men,
Tyler Huff also took 15th with a PR of 15:33.28.Â
FIELD EVENTS — THROWSÂ
Junior
Amelia Lewin stood out with two strong finishes in the weight throw and shotput. Lewin finished 4th overall in weight with a throw of 14.02m. She also finished 9th in the elite flight of women's shotput at 11.29m.Â
Senior
Josiah Brown led the way for the men, finishing 12th in shotput with a throw of 14.43m.
FIELD EVENTS — JUMPS
Sophomore
Jesse Vanlerberg placed 12th in the triple jump with a mark of 11.84m.Â
RELAYS
The women's team debuted a 4000m distance medley relay on Friday. The team of Addie Horner,
Kylie Cope,
Briana Westrick, and
Lauren Hall finished 9th at 14:06.30.Â
UP NEXT
The Student Princes will be back on the track Saturday, February 14 at Otterbein University for the All-Ohio Indoor Championships.Â
